The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said it plans to report former Special Duties Minister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki and three others to the Abuja Federal Court today 4th May, 2020
EFCC spokesman Tony Orilade said in a statement that Turaki, also a senior lawyer in Nigeria (SAN) and others, would be reported to Judge Inyang Ekwo on 16 counts of fraud-related crimes.
The charge is marked: FHC / ABJ / CR / 61/2020.
Other defendants in the indictment are Sampson Okpetu, Samtee Essentials Limited and Pasco Investment Limited.
The statement says: “The EFCC will today, Monday, May 4, 2020, report the former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, for multimillion dollar fraud.
“He will be prosecuted before Judge Inyang Ekwo of the Federal Supreme Court, sitting in Abuja on a 16-count charge.
“Turaki, SAN, was Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs from 2013 to 2015. He also served as Minister of Labor from 2014 to 2015.
“Other people to be indicted along with the former minister on a 16-count charge are Sampson Okpetu (who served as his special assistant), Samtee Essentials Limited and Pasco Investment Limited (all considered to be Okpetu companies).”
